Welcome to your Social Studies Class Blog Page. The goal of the use of our class blog is the opportunity for you to express your views and provide insight to your classmates. This is not intended for open-ended use, but to focus specifically on the study of Social Studies. Only Social Studies Class appropriate discussion and content will be posted on the class blog. There will be assigned questions and activities for you to respond to, and the opportunity for you to ask questions and promote discussion with your classmates.
To register for the first time scroll down to the bottom of the Class Blog page and open JOIN THIS SPACE. Then open JOIN WIKISPACES NOW. Provide the information, being sure that your "user name" is the same you provided to me previously--if you were to modify your blog name, be sure to notify me. For now, do not make your own blog. You can do that later if you so desire. You will only have to register to the blog this one time. Please do not forget your password.
Return to the class blog page on the WIKISPACES web page. Click on the tag DISCUSSION. Before you are allowed to use the class blog, you will need to get my approval. To do this, the site has a reminder that says "Posting to this discussion forum is restricted to space members. You will need to join the space to post a message." Open JOIN THE SPACE and then click on REQUEST MEMBERSHIP. I will receive your request and approve it, and then in a day or so you will need to return to this site to use it accordingly.
The use of the Social Studies Class Blog is considered an extension of our classroom. Therefore, any speech that is considered inappropriate in the classroom is inappropriate on our class blog page. This includes, but is not limited to, profanity; racist, sexist or discriminatory remarks; and/or personal attacks. As such, all school policies and consequences apply.
Be sure to always refer to yourself with your self-identified blog name. Anonymous bloggers and comments will not be posted. Also do not reference yourself or your classmates by their actual name.
If you are a member of the Wikiblogs and you are returning to a new class blog, closely follow these steps:
- 1. Open the blog class page.
- 2. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
- 3. Click on JOIN THIS SPACE
- 4. Sign in using a blog name and password you will remember.
- 5. Click on the REQUEST MEMBERSHIP button. This will send me an e-mail to accept your membership to the new class page.
- 6. Allow me some time to respond and approve your membership.
